Everyone can Take a Minute to Change a Life. That’s the message from the National Suicide Prevention Alliance for World Suicide Prevention Day on Sunday 10 September.
Between 6000 and 7000 people in the UK die by suicide every year.
But a national survey shows under 10 per cent of people are aware of this.
And a quarter of those who responded said that not knowing what to say, or worrying that talking about suicide might increase the risk, would stop them trying to help.
