Grant application success.
A team led by Citizens Advice Reigate & Banstead has been awarded funding to develop new ways of helping people faced with the sudden death of a close friend or family member.
Citizens Advice colleagues across the county with support from Surrey County Council Public Health will work on a blueprint that could transform the support available to people at a stressful and difficult time.
The £1000 grant is made by the Martin Lewis Fund set up in June by national Citizens Advice.
Using a generous donation from the Money Saving Expert himself, the fund invites local Citizens Advice charities to put forward ideas that will make a difference to people’s lives.
Citizens Advice Reigate & Banstead chief executive Elaine Parr said:
“I’m delighted our proposal has been successful. We’re aiming to meet a need which at the moment is only met in a piecemeal way.
“The Martin Lewis Fund is a great initiative. The grant means we can take on an important project that just wouldn’t be possible without it.”
