Stories of a life in the military and fund-raising for badly-hurt veterans held us all spellbound at the latest Redhill Library themed coffee morning. November’s theme was the armistice and Royal British Legion.
Our speaker, Surrey Legion fundraiser Peter Wakeman, described the plight of many ex-soldiers and the innovative care made possible by poppy appeals. With plenty of entertaining tales from a natural raconteur.
No wonder these community events are growing in popularity.
Everyone is invited. The coffee is free. And there’s always time to talk and ask questions: before, after and during the presentation! The next ‘morning’ is a party on Wednesday 5th December in the Harlequin Centre. Then Wednesday 9th January at the Library when the subject is bees and bee-keeping.
CARBS is delighted to take part with the lively Library team. Buzz, buzz.
