Government help. But is it working?
This government scheme is a bridge into self-employment for people on Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Income Support.
Here’s the deal.
The Scheme gives you a weekly allowance for the first 6 months of self-employment IF your business plan has been approved and you work on your business for 16 or more hours a week from the start. You can also get:
i) help in preparing a scheme from a Job Centre ‘work coach’ ii) a loan to help with start-up costs, which comes with iii) a free mentor for the first 12 months.
But is it working?
For new one-person businesses? For more experienced potential entrepreneurs? Whatever your experience or knowledge of the New Enterprise Scheme, we’d love to hear it. Leave us a comment below.
