The prime minister knows what’s happening. Taking office in July Theresa May promised action to help those who are “just managing”.
She has commissioned an independent review of the impact of modern employment practices.
Matthew Taylor, chief executive, Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, will lead the work. He’s recently overseen research on self-employment and the sharing economy. His review themes will include security, rights, and new business models.
