“The digital revolution can and must have a social purpose.” That was the key message of an excellent learning event run by Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead on 26 September. Details and papers here.
Ellie Hale of Centre for Acceleration of Social Technology (top picture right with Tuke Sonaike, Package of Sunshine/VARB) summarised the importance of digital technology in the voluntary sector.
Some 15 local groups with supporters and advisers heard presentations from social technology advisers with case studies from Stripey Stork, CARBS and Community Foundation for Surrey.
VARB held its annual meeting at the event. Mayor Keith Foreman also spoke about the essential role volunteering plays in the borough.
