Growing call for change.
Citizens Advice* is calling on government to change the focus of welfare policy from moving people off benefits to helping them into “secure and sustainable work”.
Now a respected social policy research group is making a similar recommendation.
In its new strategy We can solve UK poverty Joseph Rowntree Foundation says government should:
“Change the high-level incentive for employment support services so that they are focused on delivering high employment and earnings, rather than simply moving people off benefits.”
Here at Citizens Advice Reigate & Banstead we’re pleased such an authoritative voice is also making the case for reducing the financial insecurity that underlies so many of society’s problems.
