Comparing issues brought to our advisers from April to June in 2019 and 2020 gives a snapshot of lockdown changing local concerns.
No surprise the number of people asking for advice about health and community care almost tripled in 2020.
But most frequent enquiries concerned universal credit and employment.
Taken together they grew by 120%, accounting for 37% of all enquiry issues (2019 19%). Furlough and other job support arrangements have helped many residents but are time-limited. Forecasts of a rise in unemployment are likely to increase anxiety.
Our trained advisers are ready to help new and existing clients make a start on problems of any kind.
