Two of Sutton and East Surrey Water’s crack engineering team turned their hands to an unusually dry task last week. They gave the best part of a day to helping us clear a garage linked to the old CARBS office in Redhill.
The pair – both Steve – made 4 trips to the recycling centre with old furniture, filing cabinets and dusty office equipment. On each occasion there were long waits so what looked like 2-hour job took from 9 to 2.30.
CARBS Chief Executive Andrea Dunhill was grateful.
“Thanks so much to the Steves and Tom at SES Water. This was a really generous gift of time and energy. They helped us take a big step forward in moving on from the old office.
“As a small local charity, Citizens Advice Reigate and Banstead depends wholly on community support. This may be grant funding, donations, volunteer and pro-bono professional time, or ‘in kind’ help from local business. On behalf of the thousands of clients we help every year, we are truly grateful to them all.”
