A client at our Banstead office was being harassed by a bailiff over a parking fine from 2016. She knew nothing about it but the bailiff had brought back school memories of being bullied and she felt helpless.
She had tried to resolve the issue with the council but, without details of the fine, had failed. We tracked down the offence and discovered she had moved before any notifications had been sent to her.
We empowered her to make application to file a statutory declaration out of time.
We contacted with the bailiffs to keep them updated and have to confess they seemed as difficult as reported.
Our client’s lovely thank-you card suggests the application has been successful and the problem solved.
