Citizens Advice data show 40 to 60-year-olds are the largest group targeted by fraudsters. We call them ‘life-established’ because they’re more settled than other groups and have access to larger financial assets.
They’re targeted by a wide variety of scams involving anything from pensions to dating to property. Often they don’t report being targeted, particularly if they’ve managed not to lose money. Our message to ‘life-established’ people is:
Report any scams you come across – it’s so important to help protect others and help the authorities catch scammers.
