It can easily happen. You’ve paid your money but the goods or service aren’t up to standard. You may have complained but you don’t take it further because you’re not sure anyone will listen.
In fact if you think a company has broken the law or acted unfairly, you might be able to report them to Trading Standards.
And Citizens Advice has new guidelines on what to report and how to do it.
What? You should report a company to Trading Standards if, for example:
How? Call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline: 03454 04 05 06.
Tell them you want to report a trader to Trading Standards. The helpline will assess your problem and pass it on to Trading Standards if it’s appropriate.
