Rise in calls for advice
The lockdown recession has led to mounting anxiety about job-related issues in Reigate and Banstead and across the country. Analysis of calls to CARBS shows significant year-on-year growth in: Redundancy (195% ) Pay and entitlements (119%) Tribunals (54% ) and Terms and conditions (40%). See chart.
Mike Locke, CARBS Research Volunteer, reports key findings with overall focus on redundancy:
- Redundancy is now a real and present fear for a lot of people
- Clients aren’t just asking for our help when they’ve been made redundant
- Wisely they are checking their rights and their employer’s responsibilities in case their job is selected
- Demand for advice on redundancy is likely to remain high. Last month, YouGov, a polling company, reported more than 1 in 3 managers likely to make staff redundant before the end of the year.
