When CARBS moved from Cromwell Road to 24 High Street, Redhill last March, we knew the relocation would be temporary. We were relieved to find a home that was convenient for our clients.
On 1 March 2019 we received formal notice that the Compulsory Purchase process affecting our office and adjoining premises had begun.
This means we are likely to be on the move again in the summer.
In the past year we went on looking for permanent premises in central Redhill and that work continues. As our Chief Executive, Andrea Dunhill, said in her new year message:
“In March we moved into temporary premises in the High Street. This was a big, if short-lived, step forward and much appreciated by our clients and volunteers. The issue is still unresolved, however, and in the year ahead we shall redouble our efforts to find a secure permanent base. This is essential for the continuing high quality of our service but also our financial stability – both funding partners and charitable donors understandably need to be confident that we have secure foundations.”
