PIP assessment puts college course on hold.
Our client’s daughter is a determined young woman. She is autistic but doing well in her college course with a full attendance record.
A PIP assessment has put this on-hold by reducing her benefit.
She used her payments for taxi fares to and from college. If she travels by bus she becomes anxious to the point of screaming and vomiting. Our client provided the assessors with full medical evidence.
With our adviser’s support the family is seeking a reassessment.
We hope the outcome allows a brave young person to get over her disappointment and restart a promising career.

Citizens Advice ‘Advice Trends’ shows problems with Personal Independence Payments have out-numbered all other benefit problems in recent years.
This is being frequently reflected in media coverage of the impact of disability benefit changes, for example Targeting disabled people is woeful politics (Daily Telegraph, 22/03/16).
