Our client had been receiving the daily living component of Personal Independence Payment. This was stopped following an assessment leaving a large hole in her daily living budget.
When a mandatory reconsideration confirmed the assessment in May, we helped her put in an appeal. Normally these appeals take months but on this occasion the DWP telephoned offering to restore her benefit without waiting for a hearing.
And we’ve just heard she is now receiving an additional £58.70 a week!
She is understandably delighted and wrote to us saying: “Thank you so much for your help. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
