Two events this month showed again how leading local groups are working together for a stronger community.
Our Communities, the annual conference* for Raven Housing Trust staff, celebrated partnerships with groups who play a key part in the lives of their residents. Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Raven Housing and the DWP presented a training seminar* on Universal Credit.
CARBS was fully involved in both events.
At the conference, our debt caseworker and supervisor Mandy Impey took part in a ‘Question Time’ panel on financial insecurity, the ageing population, mental health and anti-social behaviour. Also on the panel: Age Concern Merstham, ESDAS, Reigate and Banstead Housing, and Surrey Police. At the seminar, Mandy met representatives of a range of organisations including: Team Around The Family (RBBC), Wayside Hostel and Raven Housing.
Mandy Impey said:
“Both these meetings were well-attended and positive, so well done to the organisers. At Citizens Advice we make it a priority to be in close touch with local groups on behalf of our clients and the community. Helping solve individual and family problems depends on genuine partnerships.”
