Coronavirus lockdown is the most unsettling time for everyone. It’s caused problems many thought they would never face. And it could get worse, or persist, or change its form.
Everyday at Citizens Advice our volunteers and staff are helping fellow citizens whose lives have been turned upside down. The work is rewarding but also demanding and stressful. Mostly confined to home, they miss those normal, morale-boosting chances to meet and chat and be reassured.
In such circumstances pets help relax, amuse and, yes, console us.
When the Citizens Advice network held its first #AdviceAtHome Twitter event in April, we and many local CAs noticed the contribution our cats and dogs were making. This week we again recognised and celebrated the part they play.
The tweets and posts are light-hearted but the contribution is real and serious.
