Volunteers Week 2020 is a great opportunity to say ‘Thank You’ to the generous people who help their neighbours in so many different ways.
At Citizens Advice Reigate and Banstead our dedicated volunteers donate time and expertise to a shared purpose: free, confidential, independent advice for anyone who asks, whoever they are, whatever their problem.
CARBS Chief Executive, Andrea Dunhill, says:
“Our volunteers are amazing. They work together to help each other do their best for every client. It’s a team effort by people who are committed to the wellbeing of the whole community.
“I can’t praise or thank them enough for the way they responded in March when we learned we had to close our offices. This could have meant cutting our service by as much as half at a stroke. In fact, almost everyone was willing and able to change their lives (and often family arrangements) to begin working from home.
“The result is we are now helping more clients with more problems than before. There has been no fall-off in the number of happy outcomes to requests for help*.
“In the coming months, as ever, our priorities will be the well-being and training of our volunteers. We’re also planning to strengthen the team. These are the best ways to show our appreciation on behalf of the community.”
