A Surrey beekeeper created a buzz among the shelves at the latest Redhill Library Coffee Morning.
With his illustrated talk on honeybees, Paul Cleaver led a record audience in discussion of a fascinating subject.
Paul is not only an enthusiastic apiarist. He’s a committed environmentalist. No surprise then that the honey his bees make is organic.
At CARBS we’re delighted to help promote the Library’s coffee mornings on the first Wednesday of each month.
Attendance has grown steadily since the first ‘morning’ in September. Libraries have always played an important part in their communities. The sweet success of the Redhill Coffee Mornings shows how they are spreading the honey and linking with other nearby hives!
The potential of libraries as community hubs is enormous.
As Surrey County Council said in its recent Have Your Say consultation: Libraries and cultural services are most effective and efficient when they work in partnership with the public, voluntary, community and private sectors, including through the creation of shared spaces.*
The next coffee morning on Wednesday 6th February 1030-1200 joins the celebrations of Chinese New Year.
