As a community charity ourselves it’s not often CARBS can make a difference with a donation of our own. But last month we were able to give 8 laptops to our Redhill neighbours, The Warwick School.
“We’re very pleased to be able to help Warwick students and families. New funding meant we could replace some of our older machines. We cleaned, wiped all systems and content and offered them to the school.
“I understand some of the school’s families with several children have only 1 laptop between them. Warwick will install programmes and systems and make them available where they can do most good.
“We’re also giving the school thousands of plastic files our Scan and Shred team liberated from client folders and some usable but redundant stationery.”
“We’re delighted to receive 8 reconditioned laptops from Citizens Advice. Andrea responded to a call for community support from Lynda Carroll, our Home School Link Worker, to ensure all our students have access to remote learning.
“The laptops will make a real difference to our children. They will help them keep up to date with their studies, form friendships with peers and strengthen relationships with mentors and teachers. Importantly too they will help us close gaps in learning students have experienced during lockdown.”
If anyone has a reasonably modern laptop they no longer need please let us know. We will ensure it is wiped and donated to the school. Email us at info@carbs.org.uk or Tweet @ReigateandBCAB.
