This autumn the Citizens Advice network is celebrating 80 years of service.
We’ve been providing free, confidential advice in East Surrey since 1939.
Our first bureau opened in Reigate. Citizens Advice Reigate and Banstead was established in 2004 by the merger of Redhill, Reigate and Banstead CAB with Horley CAB. Horley had opened in 1969. Banstead opened as an experiment in January 1978; by July 1979 it was open 5 days a week.
We’re not planning a big party. But we ARE celebrating the hundreds of generous volunteers who have made our unique service possible. And still do!
Which is truly a blessing. Because demand for impartial advice is growing.
So the focus of our anniversary is a campaign to recruit more volunteer colleagues. We need them to join a great tradition the community can be very proud of.
