Service now in place.
Citizens Advice Reigate & Banstead court desk is up and running again.
Our advisers can now help local people facing action in the Guildford County Court sitting at Crawley Magistrates Court.
For years the service supported people in local courts, particularly those defending housing cases. However in March the Redhill and Reigate courts closed and it looked as if such people would have to attend court in Guildford or even Staines. The journeys would have taken longer and cost more and almost certainly have led to more undefended cases.
Now following a successful campaign for justice closer to Reigate & Banstead, and with the generous support of Access to Justice, we are again available at court for those who need us.
Brian Fissenden, Citizens Advice supervisor and court desk team member, said:
“Local access to justice is very important. We’re pleased the Courts and Tribunals Service has made it possible for people to attend in Crawley and we can resume offering local knowledge and support.”
