Community workshop.
Companies and voluntary groups gathered at Harlequin Redhill on 18 November for a Reigate & Banstead Business Community and Social Value Workshop.
Crispin Blunt MP introduced the event and outlined its purpose. He was “keen to support closer co-operation between locally based businesses and the local voluntary community and faith sectors for the benefit of all”.
Citizens Advice Reigate & Banstead Chief Executive, Elaine Parr, was enthusiastic.
“I believe this kind of networking with business and the voluntary sector can produce results that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. The workshop was well-attended and there seems to be real commitment to working together.
“At Citizens Advice our volunteers help unhappy people with every sort of problem.
“But they are employees, clients, family members, friends, even volunteers themselves, so we’re also helping their companies, families and other groups throughout the community.”
Among the local firms represented were Canon, Black and Veatch, Osborn, Towers Watson, Reed and many small and medium-sized businesses too.
