Citizens Advice at Community Covenant local services briefing
Our armed service personnel deserve the support of the whole nation. In Reigate & Banstead we make sure help is there through the Surrey Armed Services Community Covenant.
Citizens Advice is signed-up and on Tuesday our senior debt caseworker Mandy Impey was a speaker at a Covenant event organised by R&BBC in the Old Council Chamber.
The purpose was to raise awareness of local services on offer to the armed forces community, families and veterans. Also speaking were Nina Porter from Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead and Roger Nield from Vulnerable Veterans.
Mandy spoke about debt problems and how to set about solving them if necessary. Her approach is a set of essential steps – the last one being a good night’s sleep when your finances are back under control!
People were able to ask questions, network and develop links with organisations work to deliver the aims* of the Armed Forces Community Covenant.
