Joined up care please!
That was the big wish shared by everyone at a Voice Network event hosted by Surrey Community Action (SCA) and Healthwatch Surrey.
It won’t surprise policy-makers and managers who want to improve quality and efficiency. But the opinions of people in local services are vital current information.
A dozen faith and voluntary groups took part in the event at Redhill Methodist Church. Each spoke about the health and care needs of their members or service users.
Citizens Advice Reigate & Banstead Healthwatch champion Janet Rimmer said health and care issues make the problems facing many of our clients harder to solve.
The day was also an opportunity for groups to learn about each other. Jason Gaskell, SCA chief executive, and Matthew Parris of HWS presented their organisations and led discussion on the health and care questions.
Voice Network is run by Healthwatch Surrey. The official ‘consumer’ health and care research group uses network meetings across the county to give everyone a chance to have their say.
